Job Summary

A company is looking for a Sales Tax Consultant to address urgent clean-up work in sales tax compliance on a temporary remote basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct nexus studies to determine sales tax collection and remittance requirements
• Manage state tax registrations, remittances, and back filings for compliance
• Assist with the clean-up of existing sales tax issues and ongoing compliance monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of sales and use tax experience, preferably in CPG, food & beverage, or manufacturing sectors
• Strong understanding of multi-state sales tax laws and nexus rules
• Proficiency with Shopify, Avalara, and TaxJar
• Experience in tax compliance, focusing on back filings and registration processes
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, or a related field preferred; CPA not required
