Product Manager, Derivatives Platforms

About Clear Street:

Clear Street is modernizing the brokerage ecosystem. Founded in 2018, Clear Street is a diversified financial services firm replacing the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets.

We started from scratch by building a completely cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today’s complex, global market. Clear Street’s proprietary prime brokerage platform adds significant efficiency to the market, while focusing on minimizing risk, redundancy, and cost for clients. Our goal is to create a single source-of-truth platform for every asset class, in every country, and in any currency.

By combining highly-skilled product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals, we’re building the essentials to compete in today’s fast-paced markets.

The Role:

As a Product Manager at Clear Street, you will be involved with building out product strategy and leading our efforts to build the future of market infrastructure, with initial focus on the Equity Swaps platform. This role is deeply involved with building Derivatives products for our varied client base including hedge funds, traders and portfolio managers. You will play an integral part in the design and development of our Swaps platform and also enhance the client facing Studio, which is our flagship product.

You will create new products, and enhance existing applications, that simplify the prime brokerage experience as well as improve existing products, define and execute the product road map, and lead collaboration between engineering, design, data, and customer-facing teams.

You Will:

  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver effective strategic solutions, on time, and within budget
  • Align product investment with commercial business objectives through deep understanding of deliverables and organizational needs
  • Act as the point of contact as well as handle  escalations for all product, operational and engineering
  • Define business requirements, create the product road map and manage the development lifecycle to ensure successful delivery and implementation
  • Manage trade-off discussions with Engineering and client group

Requirements:

  • You have at least five (5) years of total professional experience with at least three (3) years directly in product management or business analysis with a broker dealer
  • You have created industry-defining analytics products or productivity tools for the enterprise market
  • You have technical skills that will help you to gain an in-depth understanding of our platform and make meaningful contributions to conversations on topics like data modeling and software architecture
  • You’re a creative, logical and strategic product thinker who loves collaborating across the company with engineering, operations, marketing, design and sales
  • You have strong communications skills and know how to articulate precise customer problems
  • You have led programs across multiple, competing work streams while balancing the business, client and regulatory needs versus budget and time constraints
  • Advanced skills in either Microsoft Office or Google Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Docs, Sheets or Slides)
  • You’re a proven leader who knows how to influence others
  • Preferred: Experience in Capital Markets and/or Equity Derivatives
  • The ability to run basic to intermediate SQL queries.

We offer:

  • The opportunity to join a small and growing team of good people, where you can make a difference.
  • A meritocratic philosophy that champions collaboration
  • Room to innovate, solve complex business problems, and build new products.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and perks

We offer:

The base salary range for this role is $140,000-190,000. The range is representative of the starting base salary for this role at Clear Street. Which range a candidate fits into and where a candidate falls in the range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. These ranges represent Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The ranges stated do not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.

At Clear Street, we offer competitive compensation packages, company equity, 401k matching, gender neutral parental leave, and full medical, dental and vision insurance. Our belief has always been that we are better as a business when we are all together in person. As such, beginning on January 2, 2023, we are requiring employees to be in the office 4 days per week. In-office benefits include lunch stipends, fully stocked kitchens, happy hours, a great location, and amazing views.
