California Licensed Staff Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Counsel to represent clients in workers' compensation matters before the California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the Employer/Carrier at administrative hearings, conferences, trials, and appeals
• Manage a full caseload efficiently and effectively, ensuring prompt case disposition
• Prepare legal documents and provide legal advice to relevant stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Licensed by the California State Bar
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Workers' Compensation law
• Strong knowledge of the California Labor Code and relevant legal procedures
• Ability to manage up to 95 cases from inception to settlement or appeal
• Familiarity with EAMS, Lexis Advance, and Microsoft Office
