This position can based out of our East Coast offices (Waltham, MA; New London, CT; Lake Worth, FL) on a hybrid basis or be fully remote. We are unable to provide sponsorship for work authorization.

 

Your impact:

The Registered Dietitian will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Food & Supply Source members receive exceptional service and support through nutritional menu assistance. Primary responsibilities will include meeting with the Food & Supply Source members to determine their requirements for menu development or planning, certifying existing menus and recipes, creating menu cycle plans, and communicating the timeline and information required for completion. This role includes the development of cycle menus based on the health conditions and dietary restrictions of the member’s organization, recipe creation, and professional assistance regarding federal, state, and local nutrition standards and best practices, including allergic or therapeutic diets, CACFP, NSLP, and SBP. This role also provides advice to Food & Supply Source members to improve their efficiency from a practical and budgetary standpoint by reviewing available kitchen equipment and aligning menus to each unique circumstance.

  • Provide prompt and courteous responses to customer inquiries, offering helpful information and
    guidance on menu planning.
  • Provide solutions in a timely and empathetic manner, aiming for high customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records of interactions, requests and project information in Salesforce CRM system.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless communication.
  • Follow established procedures and protocols for menu cycle creation & nutritional menus.
  • Work with NutriSource specialists for NB Nutrition & CN labels
  • Communicate with sales team & other NutriSource team members regarding status of NutriSource projects.
  • Determine customer needs and priorities by meeting with decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Plan and analyze menus for nutrients, cost, staff skills, storage resources, distributor options
  • Develop new and evaluate, customize, scale existing recipes to meet customer needs
  • Interpret and implement federal, state and local nutrition guidelines in the menu plan
  • Identify foods from the distributor that can support written guidelines
  • Provide appropriate documentation (product formulation statements) of food items available from distributors
  • Revise/modify menus for allergens as requested
  • Revise/modify menus to accommodate individuals with medical conditions such as diabetes or hypertension as requested
  • Serve as a resource to customers and sales team to support food program goals and objectives
  • Review, approve and sign menus according to customer requests
  • Foster collaboration with NutriSource team members to meet customer requests in a timely manner

 

About you

  • 5 years of experience creating menus in compliance with federal, state, and local nutrition standards and best practices, including allergic or therapeutic diets, CACFP, NSLP, and SBP
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required
  • Previous experience in wholesale food service distribution is preferred
  • State or universal licensure preferred
  • Familiarity with CACFP, NSLP, and SBP standards preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen ability to convey information clearly and effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric mindset, with a genuine desire to assist and support others
  • Proficiency in using computers and familiarity with customer service software, CRM systems, Excel, and other relevant tools
  • Demonstrated problem-solving & multi-tasking abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues
  • Ability to work remotely and travel up to 10%
