This role is onsite 5 days a week in Fremont, CA

About the Role:
The Category Buyer for the Vietnamese Market is responsible for executing merchandising strategies, sourcing products, and building assortments to optimize performance, enhance profitability, and drive growth within the Vietnamese category. This role involves market analysis, vendor negotiations, and inventory management, while working closely with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement merchandising strategies for the Vietnamese category under the guidance of the Vietnamese Market Lead and Category Manager to maximize sales, market share, and profitability.
  • Source and curate the Vietnamese product assortment to meet SKU count targets, identify new hero items, trending products, and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct regular market research to stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and customer preferences, identifying gaps and drive opportunities in the Vietnamese market.
  • Build and nurture strong vendor relationships to secure optimal pricing, product support, and collaboration.
  • Ensure a consistent product supply by working closely with supply chain teams (demand forecasting, replenishment, and logistics) to monitor inventory, prevent out-of-stock, and ensure product availability and fulfillment targets.
  • Review purchase orders and payments, address operational issues to ensure smooth collaborations with the vendors.
  • Work with marketing and regional teams to implement promotional campaigns across regions, driving sales performance.
  • Optimize product titles and keywords to reflect Vietnamese dialects and cultural nuances.
  • Prepare and present weekly performance reports on sales, margins, product availability, and other key indicators.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in the retail industry or a similar field is a plus.
  • Knowledge/ experience in market research and data analysis is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in both Vietnamese and English is required.
  • A passion for food and a deep understanding of Vietnamese culture, food, and the nuances within Vietnamese communities in the U.S.

Compensation Range

  • The US base salary range for this full-time position is $72,000-85,000
  • This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits 
  • Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location

Within the range, individual pay is determined by multiple factors like job-related skills, experience and work locations.
