Ultrasound Tech (Medical Imaging)

Nashville General Hospital is hiring an Ultrasound Tech for our Imaging team for full-time Day!
 
This position is primarily responsible for performing diagnostic medical sonogram examinations.   The ultrasound technologist may assist the Interventional Radiology team via sonography. The ultrasound technician documents acquired information on the ultrasound images to assist the radiologist. Responsibilities include performing patient care services relevant to performing ultrasound procedures to include ensuring appropriate pre-procedure measures are taken. *This position will work 3 12's at our main hospital location*
As an Ultrasound Tech, you will: 
  • Ensures patient is properly prepped and correctly position patient, providing maximum comfort to obtain images
  • Ensures patient 's chart is on hand and consent signed for ultrasound studies requiring consent
  • Routinely checks patient ID prior to procedure
  • Provides adequate exam explanations to patient and/or significant other
  • Provides care based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective
  • Maintaining a log of completed procedures, performing QA, and responsible for ensuring properly cleaned equipment
Required Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, (ARDMS)
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible. (Registry eligible must become certified within twelve (12) months of employment.)
  • Current BLS certification is required at the time of hire
  • Minimum of 6 months of imaging experience required, 1 year preferred
