Laboratory Manager

Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Laboratory Manager for Full-time Day! 
   
This position will report to the Administrative Laboratory Director and will supervise efficient and integration and management of the laboratory team and operations to properly provide quality laboratory services. Manages operations to support consistent outcomes which meet or exceed quality standards.  Plans, coordinates, and supervises the activities of testing personnel. 
As a Laboratory Manager, you will: 
  • Manages daily activities and the team to optimize operational processes and meet quality performance standards within the Laboratory service
  • Supervises personnel, selects new employees, assures staff are properly trained and meet competencies, identifies training needs, responsible for performance evaluation.
  • Assists in proficiency testing and developing quality control and quality assurance programs.
  • Assists maintaining all documents to assure compliance with both regulatory and accreditation standards applicable to this laboratory.
  • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.
 
Required Skills & Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Medical Technology required
  • Medical Technologist with the State of TN Supervisor License
  • MLS (ASCP, AMT) Certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of general laboratory experience in Core, Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Serology or Point of care laboratories
