Billing Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Billing Follow Up Representative I.

Key Responsibilities

• Review accounts and apply billing follow-up knowledge for insurance payors to ensure proper reimbursement
• Manage prebilling/billing and follow-up activities on open insurance claims, utilizing revenue cycle knowledge
• Communicate with internal teams and external customers to validate and correct information regarding billing issues

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Typically requires 1 year of related experience in a medical/billing reimbursement environment
• Basic keyboarding proficiency and ability to operate computer and software systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) is preferred but not required
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as explanation of benefits (EOB) and procedure manuals
