Job Description

As a Business Banking Consultant at Beyond Bank, you will play a crucial role in achieving business banking targets by developing and maintaining strong customer relationships. You will work closely with Business Banking Managers to prepare comprehensive lending submissions, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations. Your responsibilities will include assessing financial information, managing the annual review program, and providing leadership on business lending inquiries. Additionally, you will develop and manage business development relationships, maintain a deep understanding of banking products and processes, and contribute to business improvement projects. This role requires excellent communication, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of financial statements and credit risk management.

In the role you will

  • Contribute to achieving sales and referral budgets.
  • Manage cost and revenue lines within budget parameters.
  • Ensure appropriate lending margins for business relationships.
  • Produce comprehensive lending submissions that comply with policies and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of financial information, business circumstances, collateral, and credit risk.
  • Complete annual reviews of business relationships within policy timeframes.
  • Collaborate with Credit Control to manage at-risk, overdrawn, or overdue business lending facilities..
  • Maintain product and systems knowledge and seek process improvements.
  • Provide leadership, support, and mentorship on financial statements, tax returns, and complex loan inquiries to staff and branches.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and tax returns.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to staff.
  • Knowledge of policies, legislation, and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of business and credit risk.
  • Proactively improve processes and resolve issues.
  • Familiarity with sales tracking tools, CRM, and BI Portal.
  • Efficiently manage reviews and administrative tasks.
  • High level of service to address and resolve customer needs.

What does our recruitment process look like?
The process can include a phone screen, video interview, virtual or face-to-face interview, psychometric testing, and all relevant background checking. Some positions may require undergoing 4 weeks of mandatory full training.
