About the program:
World Resources Institute (WRI) is an independent, nonprofit global research organization that turns big ideas into action, making progress for People, Climate and Nature. WRI’s presence in Europe allows the Institute to engage with important partners and donors on the continent as well as using that knowledge, expertise and funding to speed up change elsewhere. WRI Europe works with EU institutions, national governments, think tanks, companies and civil society organizations to support Europe in its global leadership in promoting a green, climate-friendly and socially equitable transition. Staff are also deeply involved in WRI’s programmatic work on core issues such as food, forests, land use and water, cities, and energy, and the ocean as well as economics and finance. WRI Europe’s regional office is in The Hague, The Netherlands. There is also a large presence in London, United Kingdom. Additional experts and staff are based in Bonn, Germany under the NDC Partnership and Istanbul, Türkiye under Cities program.
Internship Highlight:
The Multimedia Internship at WRI Europe offers a unique opportunity to be an integral part of a dynamic and nimble communications team based in The Hague. WRI Europe is dedicated to advancing sustainable and climate solutions across Europe and aligned with WRI's global work to make progress for people, nature and climate. In this role, the intern will work on creating impactful multimedia content that highlights climate challenges and solutions, contributing directly to WRI Europe’s mission to elevate environmental issues through compelling storytelling.
Ongoing mentoring will be part of this assignment. You will be supported in this role by the Head of Communications and Social Media Associate of WRI Europe, and report to the Head of Communications.

The World Resources Institute (WRI) Europe is looking for a Multimedia Intern to join our dynamic communications team in The Hague. This internship offers a unique chance to develop your multimedia skills while directly supporting WRI’s mission to elevate critical environmental issues through innovative storytelling. You’ll get hands-on experience in creating engaging videos and social media content that highlights both the challenges of climate change and the solutions we can implement. Throughout your internship, you'll work closely with both the Head of Communications and the Social Media Associate, receiving mentorship and guidance that will enhance your professional growth. You’ll be involved in producing and editing video content across our platforms, assisting in event recaps, and managing editorial calendars using industry-standard tools like Asana. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate on special projects, including the impactful ‘In Conversations With’ series, showcasing personal climate stories. By the end of your internship, not only will you have built a portfolio of significant multimedia work, but you will also have gained insights and skills that will propel your career in communications and sustainability.
