About This Role

The Electro-mechanical Assembly Technician (EMAT) performs the assembly of a complex electromechanical, radiation therapy medical device as part of new product development and routine manufacturing.  This is a versatile, hands-on technical position, where the incumbent may be assigned a range of technical manufacturing tasks such as delicate electrical interconnecting, heavy mechanical component assembly, precise alignments and executing software scripts.  The EMAT will be trained in all four areas of manufacturing assembling on the factory floor and may be responsible for focusing on one or a combination of the areas including electrostatic discharge (ESD), sub-assembly, gantry, and system test. 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Align, fit, or assemble electrical and mechanical components including gantry, power distribution units, uninterruptible power supplies, system control racks, treatment couch, and system covers using hand or power tools, fixtures and other assembly aids
  • Verify part dimensions or other criteria to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments
  • Verify correct components and traceability issued to job
  • Maintain accurate component traceability and associated build documentation
  • Perform routine subsystem and system level testing. Identify and troubleshoot failures as needed
  • Perform repairs and upgrades to system as required
  • Collaborate with engineers to establish the assembly and test processes and provide feedback for design and process improvements
  • Support investigations to resolve quality issues such as NCMRs, complaints, and CAPAs
  • Follows all quality, safety, and housekeeping practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Where You Will Do This Job  

  • Onsite - This position requires the successful candidate to work from the RefleXion office. They must be based in the greater SF Bay Area and must be able to commute into the RefleXion office in Hayward daily.

 What We Need

  • 3 years of professional experience performing hands-on assembling and/or repairs on electrical, mechanical, cable assemblies or similar equipment
  • High school degree or General Education Development (GED) degree
  • Experience performing hands-on assembling and/or repairs on mechanical, electrical, cable assembly/routing or similar equipment
    • Ability to use hand tools and power tools a must
  • Must possess the appropriate personality to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a constant focus on safety and quality
  • Ability to execute system-level testing with a high degree of attention to detail and overall product quality
  • Proficient with basic hand tools and inspection equipment
  • Motivated, proactive self-starter
  • Must be strong team player with good communication skills
  • Must be able to read and interpret electronic circuit and mechanical drawings, detailed process instructions
  • Strong attention to documentation details, component traceability and assembly quality

The pay range for this role is $25 - $35 per hour. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable variable compensation.
