The Impact You’ll Make

The Financial Reporting Manager is a key contributor for the Company, facilitating the efficient completion of our financial reporting process and our most complex accounting processes, with visibility to senior leaders at Recursion. 

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare the SEC annual and quarterly 10-K / 10-Q filings including the financial statements, footnotes and MD&A, while ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements under U.S. GAAP and SEC Regulations (including iXBRL).
  • Own our complex accounting processes including revenue, stock-based compensation, leases, software, goodwill, intangibles and consolidations.
  • Perform technical accounting research and implement the accounting for ad-hoc highly complex transactions such as Business Combinations, Revenue, Equity and the related embedded derivative and lease reviews to these and other large material contracts.
  • Prepare the adoption of new accounting pronouncements, including understanding and implementing the new technical accounting rules.
  • Assist in Recursion’s Sarbanes-Oxley 404b compliance processes, policies and procedures including the policies and the quality execution for SEC reporting.
  • Assess the impact of financial reporting information received from other functions and service providers.
  • Interface with various groups including the finance leadership team, outside public accountants and attorneys; and internal legal, tax and investor relations.
  • Stay current on technical accounting matters and prepare accounting memos documenting the conclusion.
  • Assist with quarterly review and annual audit processes by our external auditors.
  • Assist with cross-functional projects on an ad-hoc basis (e.g. Financial Planning and Analysis forecasting or finance-related software implementations.)
  • Develop and implement improvement initiatives that increase the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial reporting deliverables.

The Team You’ll Join 

The Financial Reporting Manager reports to the Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and is responsible for preparing our quarterly SEC Form 10-Q and annual SEC Form 10-K filings, as well as any other SEC filings (e.g. 8-K’s, pro-forma statements, S-3’s, etc). In addition, the Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for our most complex accounting processes and performing technical accounting research. 

The Experience You’ll Need

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting.
  • Active CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience either at a Big Four public accounting firm or a combination of public accounting and public multi-national company experience.
  • Strong SEC reporting and technical accounting experience. Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of the U.S. GAAP, SOX 404b compliance and SEC reporting regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office, ERP applications (general ledger software, consolidation software, etc) and financial reporting tools (such as Workiva).

Working Location:

Making Salt Lake City your home base is ideal, however, we will also consider hybrid work for this position based in San Francisco or New York.  We ask that employees living outside of Salt Lake City commit to regular on-site visits for routine work and departmental events.

  • Developing: $114,000
  • Skilled: $126,000
  • Expert: $140,000
