Greet and escort patients to examining room; make them feel welcome and comfortable
Prepare patient for exams; obtain urine specimens, check vital signs, document symptoms, complaints & medications
Ensure the patient's demographic information is correct and updated
Evaluate calls for emergencies and triage appropriately
Coordinate and schedule physician's appointments, meetings, etc.
Assist the physician, residents and fellows with exams and procedures
Give injections and/or teach the patient to administer injections to self
Assist patient with obtaining lab slips and/or referrals, scheduling procedures, prescriptions, etc.
Educate patients on healthcare concerns & problems, office & hospital procedures, medications, testing, etc.
Cooperate and interact with team members and coworkers
Maintain a safe environment for patients and others
Maintain patient confidentiality
Maintain patient flow
Follow HIPAA guidelines.
