Nurse Manager - Med/Surg Forensics and ICU - 7th Floor & ICU

Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Nurse Manager (RN) for Forensics and ICU for full-time Day! 
   
The position of Nurse Manager (RN) will assume the responsibility for the day-to-day clinical standards within the emergency department. Nurse managers oversee the daily operations of their units or facilities and ensure that the entire nursing department runs smoothly and effectively. 
As a Nurse Manager (RN), you will: 
  • Assist with monitoring and evaluating patient care through direct observation, patient/family interviews, documentation/comparison to established standards 
  • Responsible for assisting with scheduling, managing staff absences, and maintaining staffing to an acceptable level. 
  • Perform daily staff rounds to assess work conditions, ensure staff lunches, and overall well-being of the unit. 
  • Effectively resolves conflict within realm of authority in a timely manner by using leadership skills; develops, implements and follows through on appropriate plan of action 
  • Identifies appropriate aspects of care to audit and promotes staff participation in quality improvement activities 
  • Assists in referring patient and/or significant others/family members to Social Services or to appropriate community
 
Required Skills & Qualifications:  
  • Associates degree in Nursing required, Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred 
  • Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee 
  • Clinical experience within the Intensive Care Unit required 
  • At least 1 year of management experience required, within the ICU setting preferred 
  • BLS certification required at the time of hire
