JOB SUMMARY: 

The Innocence Project works to free the innocent, prevent wrongful convictions, and create fair, compassionate, and equitable justice systems for everyone. Our work is guided by science and grounded in antiracism.

The Innocence Project is seeking an intern to support the IT Team. The IT Intern will report to the IT Manager and work with other IT team members as needed. As an IT Intern, you will be crucial in supporting the IT Department. Among the listed internship duties, your responsibilities will include assisting with software and hardware issues, setting up conference rooms and troubleshooting, creating and maintaining documentation, and setting up new computers. This internship will be a 10-week paid internship with a minimum requirement of 16 hours per week, beginning in May 2025, the timeframe and schedule are flexible.

INTERNSHIP DUTIES

The IT Intern will assist with as many of these areas as possible, as appropriate and necessary, but not necessarily all:

  • Provide essential technical assistance to staff and customers on hardware and software issues. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, documenting solutions for future reference. 
  • Participate in training sessions, learn new technologies, and gain practical experience in IT operations. 
  • Assist with tasks assigned by supervisors, such as hardware or software installations, system maintenance, or data backups. 
  • Create and maintain documentation for processes, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge base articles. 
  • Work with other IT professionals and cross-functional teams to achieve common goals. 

Potential Tasks and Projects:

  • System Administration: Assist with setting up and configuring computer systems and software. 
  • Network Administration: Assist with network troubleshooting and maintenance. 
  • Cloud Computing: Work with cloud-based applications and services, monitoring and optimizing their performance 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Information Systems, Business Administration, or coursework in a related field
  • Basic knowledge of administrative best practices
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proficiency in using computers and standard software applications. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and find solutions. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff. 
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. 
  • A passion for technology and a willingness to learn new skills.

SALARY RANGE

$19.00 per hour for undergraduate students - $21.00 per hour for students in a post-graduate program
