Deal Desk Manager, Commercial Operations

About the Team 

The Sales Compliance team is responsible for designing and ensuring effective controls across DoorDash’s sales organization. The team has 4 functions - Revenue Reconciliation, Contract Operations, Commercial Operations and User access controls. The Sales Compliance team is part of the larger Sales Strategy & Operations team which accelerates productivity and develops go-to-market strategies and processes to support our sales organization. This group builds the engine and foundation for DoorDash to achieve the best selection for our platform and grow revenues across all business lines.  

About the Role 

We are looking for a Commercial Operations Associate on the Commercial Ops team who will be managing aspects of the deal approval process including overseeing opportunities through deal execution to ensure accuracy of system data and approvers to maintain compliance, and optimal deal structure and pricing response.  This position will play a key role in expanding the Commercial operations function across DoorDash while enabling strategic opportunities and providing critical support to the sales organization that will drive efficiencies,, and more robust controls. In addition, you will be proactive in identifying and implementing systems and process improvements to help grow and scale the business.

  • 6+ years experience in a fast growing preferably tech environment
  • Navigate complex deal structures and create policies to facilitate deal velocity
  • Develop effective and repeatable deal processes, identifying process improvement, automation, and simplification to reduce cycle time
  • Ability to communicate and influence across teams and senior management.
  • Define and Document key decisions and policies across Commercial Operations. 
  • Using your experience, expand scope of Commercial Operations to reduce non-sales related activity from sales teams. 
  • Be a critical leader and enabler of deal formation and execution, focusing on minimizing sales cycle times 
  • Ability to develop relationships across various stakeholder groups including legal, sales operations, accounting, finance and product management to complete team objectives
  • Establish and maintain approval matrix across all stakeholders and systems and streamline approval flows
  • Manage a team across several workstreams and are motivated by team’s professional growth and development

  • Have previous experience in managing Deal Desk or supporting sales channels. 
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; diligent with deliverables and deadlines, able to multitask
  • Strong analytical skills along with the ability to demonstrate practical judgment in sophisticated situations
  • Takes initiative in identifying root cause of issues and working with stakeholders on longer term solutions
  • Strong problem solving skills along with the ability to communicate rationale for decisions across all levels of the organization
  • Attention to detail with a strong bias for action to drive sales velocity across systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree, Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant fields preferred
  • Technical aptitude to work with multiple systems including Salesforce, JIRA, and Contracting Software
  • Intermediate knowledge of Salesforce, Contracting Tools and Google Suite

Compensation

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.  Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Washington.
