Cushing's Patient Advocate

Corcept is leading the way in the research and development of cortisol modulators, molecules that regulate cortisol activity at the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). To date, we have discovered more than 1,000 selective proprietary cortisol modulators.

In 2012, we received FDA approval of Korlym® (mifepristone), the first approved treatment for hypercortisolism (Cushing’s syndrome).

Today, our team and collaborators continue to unlock the possibilities of cortisol modulation as a way to treat serious diseases. With more than 30 ongoing studies across a wide range of disease areas, including endocrinology, oncology, metabolism, and neurology, we remain dedicated to advancing the possibilities of cortisol modulation.

What began as a ripple of scientific truth is now poised to unleash a sea change of discovery representing a fundamental shift in the way we understand and treat disease.

The Patient Advocate will provide support and education to Korlym patients who have opted in to our program. You will closely collaborate with our internal teams and specialty pharmacy in support and further development of Corcept’s dedication to excellence within our patient-centered approach.  

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships with patients who have Cushing’s Syndrome and are being treated with Korlym to provide information and disease state education. Refer patients to HCP or specialty pharmacy when medical advice is needed or requested
  • Work closely with internal teams and specialty pharmacy to ensure excellent patient support
  • Document patient case notes and follow procedures around protecting PHI and document retention
  • Report product adverse events to Corcept medical information hotline
  • Provide support and resources to individuals in the Cushing’s patient community who sign up for Cushing’s Connection
  • Maintain the highest standards of scientific, clinical, and technical expertise in Cushing’s Syndrome  

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • A positive, compassionate, caring attitude for patients suffering from a rare disease
  • Good listener with the ability to communicate scientific and medical information clearly
  • Ability to connect with a diverse group of individuals and develop rapport quickly
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to consistently and accurately document pertinent information in secure database; proficient with reporting
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Ability to travel  (approximately 4 times per year for 3-4 days at a time)  

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Direct patient support experience such as nursing, diabetic educator or medical social work
  • 4-year degree and minimum of 5 years' experience in an healthcare environment 
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and the therapeutic area of endocrinology is desired  

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this headquarters-based position is $165,500 - $194,700; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
