Supervisor, Entry Writer

Position Overview:

This position will be responsible for overseeing and training a staff of entry writers, collaborating with the team to evenly distribute tasks. Solving problems with rejected entries and reviewing the workflow to ensure all the entries are being cleared and audited. Reviewing entries to ensure compliance with customs regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing entry writer team by distributing tasks evenly across the group
  • Monitor workflow management tools to ensure all shipments are being cleared timely while troubleshooting rejections
  • Maintain a positive attitude and team cohesion
  • Stay abreast of current changes in customs law and duties
  • Attend customs Bi-weekly trade calls as frequently as possible
  • Continuous training of staff on a regular basis
  • Utilize benchmarks to procure transportations services at rates that are competitive to CJL
  • May be required to be on call and work as part of a weekend rotation
  • Perform other related job duties as required, within the scope of training and expertise
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, &/or Supply Chain Management
  • 4-5 years of experience in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Customs Brokerage
  • US Customs Broker’s License
  • Experience negotiating with FDA, USDA and other PGAs carriers and brokers across multiple modes of transportation
  • Well-developed problem solving skills and the ability to work independently to resolve issues
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical, numerical and organizational skills; proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent customer service skills with proven ability to build good relationships across the organization and with all levels of management
