Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder I to assign codes to diagnoses and procedures remotely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4
  • Research medical necessity needs as required
  • Maintain knowledge of Medicare Local Medical Review Policy (LMRPs)
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
  • High School Diploma or GED with coursework in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, or related fields
  • Less than one year of outpatient coding experience
  • Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management/Medical Record Administration
  • Preferred three to five years of coding experience in a large acute care teaching facility
  • Preferred certifications such as CCA or CPC, or RHIT/RHIA
