Certified Inpatient Coder III

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coder III to work remotely and manage coding tasks related to inpatient medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze electronic medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures
  • Assign principal and secondary ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Care Transformation team for documentation clarification and validation
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Health Information Technology or Coding program
  • Minimum 5+ years of ICD-10-CM/PCS acute care facility coding experience
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification
  • Experience in coding for an academic health system is a plus
