Senior Accountant

BuildOps is looking for a senior accountant to join our rapidly growing team. You will be directly reporting to the Controller. We are looking for a motivated self-starter who can work in a distributed team environment. 

What you’ll Do

• Take ownership of the day-to-day accounting processes including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and accruals.
• Identify, improve, and enhance reporting capabilities using accounting software and related systems to streamline accounting processes.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all financial records.
• Build and maintain relationships with business partners to ensure complete and accurate information is obtained to support the recording of entries in the general ledger.
• Support in external audits, including preparing audit schedules, addressing audit queries, and implementing , and maintaining effective internal control systems.
• Participate and lead, where appropriate, ad-hoc projects and analyses, as required.

What we look for

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3-4 years of experience in accounting or related field.
• CPA & Big Four experience preferred.
• Experience in a SaaS or technology startup environment is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
