The People and Culture team manages the entire employee lifecycle from recruiting to onboarding, from developing and promotion to separation. Our goal is to curate and shape systems for B Lab so that our teammates can do their best work, and be their most authentic, best selves at work. The People & Culture team seeks to promote and cultivate a culture where staff are able and equipped to make decisions within their scope as well as advance the strategy and objectives of B Lab’s global Theory of Change. This team serves employees in "talent hubs" across the globe (as of this posting, this includes: São Paulo, Brazil; London, United Kingdom; Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, New York, and Denver, USA). The team actively advances B Lab’s commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) in the workplace, work-life balance, career development opportunities, performance management, and engagement, as well as providing support to teams through coaching and mentorship. The Senior Manager of JEDI and Engagement reports to the Director of People & Culture; the Director of People & Culture is a member of the Senior Leadership Circle (B Lab Global’s equivalent to a “C-Suite”) and reports to B Lab Global’s co-Lead Executive.
At B Lab, our JEDI vision for the workplace is one where all employees, in spite of their lived identities, feel valued as an integral part of the mission and vision. We respect and welcome diverse life perspectives and work to ensure that all representations feel safe from harm. This means that we must promote an equitable and inclusive experience for all individuals across the organization and this is done by critically engaging with the teams inside our organization across our network. A big part of this work is partnering with teams and departments to create welcoming and respectful environments which establish a sense of engagement and belonging among employees, making them feel more connected to their productivity. Our work is developed across the following three JEDI strategic pillars that we have identified as critical to supporting the implementation of B Lab Global’s JEDI Strategy: Racial Equity & Justice; Distributing Leadership & Shifting Power; and Accountability.
The Senior Manager for JEDI & Employee Engagement leads and manages B Lab’s efforts to build an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organization and global movement. This role works across B Lab’s leadership, programs, and teams ensuring that B Lab Global’s JEDI and anti-racism strategy, core competencies, and accountabilities are embedded throughout the organization.
