Utah Licensed Assistant General Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Assistant General Counsel, Privacy & Regulatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy and data protection issues across various business functions
• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations, and provide legal advice on data-driven projects
• Oversee privacy incident response programs and partner with cross-functional teams on regulatory oversight and compliance

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and bar admission in good standing required; Utah license preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
• 7-10 years of legal practice experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years focused on privacy and regulatory compliance
• Deep understanding of HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant privacy laws and regulations
• Experience in the diagnostics industry and knowledge of CLIA regulations preferred
• Strong business acumen with the ability to provide practical legal advice
