Thuma is seeking a Retail Team Lead to join our new team in San Francisco, reporting directly to the Store Manager. As the Retail Team Lead, you will be responsible for exhibiting an inviting, elevated, confident, and friendly attitude whilst delivering a best-in-class customer experience.
You will guide and support our retail associates, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, and driving excellence in customer service throughout the team. Your leadership will be instrumental in achieving key team metrics, operational efficiency, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and upholding brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail and cafe operations by creating a welcoming, customer-centric environment with a consistent focus on delivering a 6-star customer experience.
- Serve as a Thuma brand and product expert, designing visually appealing merchandise displays aligned with brand guidelines and key company initiatives.
- Manage store inventory, implement efficient stock control, and collaborate with operations and logistics to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Train, develop, and supervise retail team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure efficient store operations, maintaining company standards in cash management, safety, and overall functionality.
- Step in for the Store Manager when needed, taking on leadership responsibilities and key decision-making.
- Support sales strategies and customer service improvements in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Assist in the cafe as needed, taking orders and serving customers with precision and care.
- Maintain store appearance and cleanliness daily.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support store success.
What You’ll Need:- Based in San Francisco.
- Multiple years of experience in a retail environment, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong visual merchandising skills, with a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of visual design principles.
- Proven experience with inventory management and stock control.
- Ability to assist in leading, motivating, and developing a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with both the store team and customers.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make decisions in the Store Manager's absence.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Shopify, NetSuite and Gladly is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift and move medium to large items, up to 75 lbs., using proper equipment and safety techniques.
$27 - $32 an hour
