Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor - CASAC in Holbrook, NY

Job Summary:

The IMA Group is actively seeking a seasoned Full-time Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) for the Holbrook office.

This position offers a range from $25 to $27 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. It is required to have a valid driver's license along with reliable transportation, as occasional travel between centers may be required.

This is a full-time position based in Holbrook, NY. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with options for 8am-4:30pm, 8:30am-5pm, or 7:30am-4pm.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct timely substance use disorder assessments as scheduled by the Suffolk County Department of Social Services.
  • Provide SUD treatment recommendations and referrals as appropriate.
  • Monitor client participation in OASAS programs, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
  • Possess knowledge of community resources and local OASAS providers for efficient SUD referrals.
  • Obtain necessary consents for treatment referrals or confirming placements.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships, fostering effective communication with SAAM team, DSS, and local OASAS providers.

 

Qualifications:

  • CASAC Credentialing and continuing education as mandated by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) is required.
  • One to four years of experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with credentialing is preferred.
