Primary Care Veterinarian

The Animal Medical Center is seeking a veterinarian that has completed a rotating internship and is experienced in general practice to join our Primary Care veterinary team. Board-certification by the ABVP in Canine or Feline Practice or board-eligibility is desirable but not required. 

The AMC is dedicated to assuring rewarding careers by emphasizing the health and safety of all hospital employees and clients, supporting excellence in clinical practice and post-graduate training, and providing opportunities for clinical research. The AMC offers a unique hybrid of academia and clinical practice, with the collegial environment of the hospital promoting inter-department consults and a noncompetitive atmosphere with an emphasis on education and excellent patient care. Within the Primary Care team, you will be joining our current team of 3 veterinarians, 3 highly experienced LVTs, 3 assistants, and a service coordinator. We are a stimulating, busy, and progressive hospital that promotes lifelong learning, postgraduate intern and resident training, and scholarship. 

In a 4-day work week, clinical responsibilities will include one day of weekend duties and participation in intern training in general and community practice. Primary Care staff doctors provide services to healthy and sick pets including vaccinations, diagnostic workups and management of maladies commonly treated by general practitioners. They also perform spay/neuter procedures and are USDA accredited in order to prepare international health certificates. Primary care doctors interact and refer to other specialty services at the AMC for advanced and specialty care.

SALARY: Commensurate with applicant experience and qualifications. 
SCHEDULE:  4 days per week including 1 weekend day 
REQUIREMENTS: DVM degree or equivalent. New York State license or eligibility required. Internship training or equivalent 5 years work experience in General Practice required.
