About the position
The Patient Care Coordinator role at Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is a part-time remote position focused on supporting patients in obesity care. The coordinator will handle various administrative duties, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and ensuring effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a commitment to providing compassionate care to patients.
Responsibilities
• Schedule patient appointments based on customer contracts and provider availability across platforms including EMR and proprietary software
,
• Contact insurance carriers to verify a patient’s insurance eligibility, benefits and requirements
,
• Ensure collection of patient payments according to practice fee schedules
,
• Demonstrate and apply knowledge of HIPAA regulations, high proficiency of general office procedures and workflows
,
• Manage multi-platform integration and adherence in all practice workflows
,
• Clearly document all communications and contacts with providers, patients and personnel in standardized documentation and messaging
,
• Perform patient call backs, maintain clear and concise communications with patients
,
• Maintain provider schedules and templates according to availability
,
• Ensure any charting and appointment needs for meaningful use adherence are conducted within workflows as required
,
• Communicate with technology, product and other departments as needed for issues, concerns or workflow development
,
• Contact and communicate with referring and referred providers
,
• Ensure billing processes are consistent, well-documented and submitted in a timely manner
Requirements
• Experience in a physician practice, call center and/or large health institution – required
,
• Experience managing direct reports in a medical setting – required
,
• An understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
,
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office/G-suite and Internet use
,
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
,
• Plans and prioritizes to meet deadlines
,
• Excellent customer service skills; communicates clearly and effectively
,
• Ability to multitask and remain focused while managing a high-volume, time-sensitive workload
,
• Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and EMR/EHR technology
,
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
