American Medical Equipment, Inc. is a leading provider of custom wheelchairs and durable medical equipment, committed to delivering mobility solutions with compassion and compliance. We are expanding our team and seeking a detail-oriented ATP Processor to support our Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs) in completing evaluations and documentation for Medicare patients.
The ATP Processor plays a critical role in coordinating documentation, communicating with physicians and insurance providers, and ensuring all paperwork is compliant with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines. This is a remote position ideal for someone with experience in DME billing, insurance follow-up, and ATP workflow support.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate and process ATP paperwork for power wheelchair evaluations
Qualifications and Job duties
• Minimum 5 years of experience in DME billing or ATP processing
• Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid documentation requirements
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficient in using EMR systems, fax/email platforms, and Excel trackers
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently from home
• Knowledge of HCPCS codes and mobility evaluation workflows is a plus
• Communicate with physicians to request prescriptions and supporting documentation
• Follow up with insurance companies to verify coverage and authorization requirements
• Ensure all documentation meets Medicare LCD and payer-specific compliance standards
• Track evaluation progress and maintain accurate digital records
• Collaborate with ATPs, PTs, and internal billing teams to ensure timely case completion
• Escalate delays or missing documentation to management promptly
• experience in processing with ATP’s min of 5 years experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: From $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
Schedule:
• 4 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
