Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Hospital Based Coder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews and codes inpatient clinical records using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS in compliance with coding guidelines and standards
  • Identifies and resolves clinical documentation discrepancies to ensure data integrity
  • Initiates and follows up on provider queries to clarify documentation and improve code specificity
Required Qualifications
  • Certificate program in coding or associate degree in Health Information Management (HIM)
  • 3+ years of coding experience
  • One of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CIC
  • Basic knowledge of Windows-based computer software
  • Commitment to keeping up to date with continuing education units (CEUs)
