Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist III - Outpatient (PRN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Code retrospective outpatient accounts using ICD-10 CM and CPT in compliance with Official Coding Guidelines
  • Abstract required data elements and review accounts in denials work queues, making recommendations as needed
  • Maintain quality and productivity standards, and mentor/train on designated coding service lines
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of acute hospital-based coding experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Licenses and certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC, CPC, or similar
  • Experience working in a remote environment is preferred for PRN Coders
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or closely related field is preferred
