Billing Follow Up Representative

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Billing Follow Up Representative I - Behavioral Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review accounts and apply billing follow-up knowledge for insurance payors to ensure proper reimbursement
  • Communicate with internal teams and external customers to resolve outstanding claims and validate information
  • Maintain documentation of billing activities and comply with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assigned payers
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Typically requires 1 year of related experience in a medical/billing reimbursement environment
  • Basic keyboarding proficiency and ability to operate relevant software systems
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), and insurance practices preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as explanations of benefits (EOB)
