Pennylane is a product-led company that prioritizes the development of our platform to drive growth and market share. As we expand our SME track, ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication of product updates is crucial. This role offers a strategic opportunity to enhance user engagement and maintain strong relationships with our clients.
HOW you will contribute to the company as a PMM
As a Product Marketing Manager focused on User Satisfaction, you will be part of a dynamic team within our 40+ people Product organization, supported by over 110 engineers. Your role will be pivotal in:
- Providing clear visibility over product releases, focusing on communication to our users, and maintaining an up-to-date internal roadmap.
- Ensuring seamless information flow regarding updates and potential friction points with Sales and Customers.
- Closing the feedback loop by informing clients and internal users about implemented suggestions through automated messages, emails, and AI tools.
- Maintaining robust relationships with users across web and mobile interfaces.
WHAT you can expect from your life at Pennylane
Within one month
You’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of our company, teams, and vision during the onboarding week.
You’ll become familiar with our product and the accounting industry through extensive documentation and peer-led training sessions.
You’ll acquire in-depth knowledge of our Product organization, methods, and culture.

You’ll have developed and implemented your first communication strategies, working closely with Product Manager and Business teams.
You’ll have positively impacted at least one OKR through your efforts.
You will have established your routine for continuous discovery and updates to our clients and be ready to build your roadmap.
Within 6 months
You’ll be autonomous in defining your objectives and roadmap.
You’ll continue to have a strong impact through iterations on the solutions you've implemented.
You’ll share your learnings and best practices within the team.

As the product team doubles in size over the next two years, you will have:

Key Responsibilities
Product Communication
- Develop a comprehensive strategy for communicating product updates and managing releases.
- Create a changelog system to track and communicate small, frequent changes.
- Craft messaging for various audiences, including internal teams and existing clients.
Cross-team Collaboration
- Coordinate with other PMMs and teams to ensure aligned communication efforts.
- Collaborate with Technical Support to manage incident communication and ensure timely, clear updates.
User Adoption and Engagement
- Develop strategies to increase user adoption of new features and updates.
- Create and implement A/B tests to evaluate communication effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze user engagement with product updates and communications.
Tools and Process Development
- Implement tools for tracking and communicating product changes.
- Develop processes for efficient and effective communication across all channels.
- Highlight Pennylane's responsiveness and continuous improvement as a competitive advantage.
Profile
-Native in French and fluent in English
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with B2B sales methods and environments.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a broad audience in simple, compelling language.
Hiring Process
- HR Screening (20-30 min): Introduction to Pennylane and discussion of your background and motivations.
- PMM Discussion & Screening (45-60 min): In-depth exploration of your experience, understanding of the role, and fit with our product culture.
- Case Study & Debrief: Evaluation of your strategic thinking, communication skills, and ability to manage product communication and user engagement challenges.

We're working on providing those last advantages to our people based outside of France as well, but it can be quite more complex depending on different countries.
