Lead, Global Recruiting Events

MongoDB’s mission is to empower innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries by unleashing the power of software and data. We enable organizations of all sizes to easily build, scale, and run modern applications by helping them modernize legacy workloads, embrace innovation, and unleash AI. Our industry-leading developer data platform, MongoDB Atlas, is the only globally distributed, multi-cloud database and is available in more than 115 regions across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Atlas allows customers to build and run applications anywhere—on premises, or across cloud providers. With offices worldwide and over 175,000 new developers signing up to use MongoDB every month, it’s no wonder that leading organizations, like Samsung and Toyota, trust MongoDB to build next-generation, AI-powered applications.

As the Lead, Global Recruiting Events you will own MongoDB’s external industry recruiting events strategy, overseeing end-to-end planning of events as the key executor of such external programming worldwide. In this role, you will create best-in-class candidate experiences for top-talent to increase the pipelines of candidates for positions across the entire company. Leveraging exceptional written and verbal communication, you will liaise with internal stakeholders of all levels to create compelling event programming and own all external vendor relationships required for seamless event execution. Leveraging past data and event feedback, you will craft new approaches to attract talent and drive increased hiring from events. Equal-parts creative and strategic, you will have ample autonomy to redefine MongoDB’s recruiting events programming to reach new heights of success!

In this role, you will

  • Own the planning and execution of MongoDB’s external recruitment events for industry-level talent globally as the key driver of external programming, coordinating multiple events concurrently to support hiring needs worldwide
  • Manage an event schedule of 10+ in-person events per year, researching and vetting event vendors, confirming event logistics, and curating invitee-lists of top talent with recruiting partners
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders across the People team and business functions to identify MongoDB event participants; lead working groups ranging from entry-level to leadership stakeholders to support event preparation and execution, ensuring on-time completion of tasks and deliverables across all parties
  • Oversee the purchasing and shipping of event swag and materials, managing quarterly event budgets and expense reporting
  • Create best-in-class marketing materials and communication strategies for global recruiting events, tailored to the target attendee pool and uplifting MongoDB’s employer brand
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the distinct candidate profiles hired across our business units, in order to tailor event content and branding to the target audience
  • Report on event outcomes via event post-mortems and weekly tracking, utilizing past event data to hone future strategies to increase hiring ROI from events
  • Support MongoDB’s participation in third-party recruiting events as needed
  • Provide direct management to a Senior Program Coordinator contractor focused on event logistics

The right person for this role will have

  • 6+ years of relevant experience. Experience in recruiting, event planning, and/or program management is strongly preferred
  • Ability to upskill in new hiring areas quickly to support event programming; past experience sourcing or recruiting for sales or technical roles is beneficial but not required
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications, with experience communicating with senior-level leaders both in-person and in-writing
  • Proven track record of managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously in a dynamic and high-volume environment
  • Extreme attention to details and logistics; excellent organization is paramount to success in this role
  • The ability to pivot from tactical execution to strategic thinking and a track record of problem-solving and navigating ambiguity with autonomy
  • A bias-for-action and intuitive sense of urgency, along-side a proactive approach to foresee and mitigate coordination issues before they arise
  • Strong ability to drive process improvements and change management, with a data-driven approach
  • The ability to lead complex, cross-functional working groups
  • A focus on continued education and constant learning
  • Anticipated travel: 6-8 times per year, as needed for event execution; international travel required
