The ideal candidate is located near Frisco/Dallas, Texas. However, we are open to remote applicants.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the company’s growth through strategic outreach to potential new clients.  This role focuses on identifying and creating opportunities to introduce Managing Directors to new business. The Business Development Manager will be the initial point of contact for new prospects, and will develop, maintain, and protect brand recognition, awareness and growth by effectively & efficiently gathering information and fostering relationships to expand markets and create new clients.  Additionally, the Business Development Manager will support the Managing Directors by participating in regional sales and relationship development events as appropriate.  The Business Development Manager will leverage industry relationships, adhere to the company’s values and act as a good steward of both client & company resources.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and repeatable strategic outreach process.
  • Identify and engage potential new clients in the private aviation sector. This includes identifying target demographics, creating personalized outreach campaigns, and leveraging industry network. 
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new prospective clients, ensuring consistent growth and expansion of the business, resulting in at least 10 new business projects annually.
  • Ensure all activities support the strategic plans of Mente, including ethical & moral obligations
  • Conduct a minimum of 20 calls, emails, and other business development touches per week
  • Provide Managing Directors with increased number of bona fide opportunities / leads per month
  • Participate in the planning, execution, and follow-up of regional marketing / sales events to ensure increase Mente visibility and Brand awareness
  • Provide on-site back-up to Managing Directors as required for specific marketing and sales events, and represent Mente by visiting flight departments, local Biz Av organizations, CPAs, wealth offices, family offices, etc.
  • Interact with Mente verticals to share intel garnered from customer / industry interaction
  • Manage time and workload to facilitate Business Development goals
  • Utilize CRM tools to track and manage client interactions and record all activities in SalesForce

 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Undergraduate degree in aviation management, aviation flight, business, finance or economics preferred. Capable of organizing, facilitating, leading and negotiating with a team of associates to solve client needs.
  • 2+ years Aviation Sales, Operations Management, Aviation Lending, and Client Relationship Management of both large corporations and high net worth individuals, a plus.
  • Past experience in customer-focused role of listening/understanding/servicing customer needs.
  • Results-oriented team player who leads by example, holds him or herself accountable for performance, takes absolute ownership and champions all aspects of the business development process.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability. Must be a confident presenter and comfortable in public speaking situations. Familiarity with Customer Account Management (CRM) automation, such as SalesForce and other systems, a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and/or current and future regulatory requirements desired.
  • Proven interpersonal skills – Ability to communicate and work closely with team, both in-person and remote.
  • Curious nature with desire to learn and share knowledge with team.
  • Enjoy working in a team environment where attitude and work ethic matters.
  • Willingness to travel – 25%
