Job Overview: Intelligence Assistant

Join MEMIC’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) as an Intelligence Assistant, where you’ll play an essential role in identifying and investigating potentially fraudulent claims. As part of a team dedicated to upholding the integrity of workers' compensation insurance, you will assist the Intelligence Analyst in conducting research, managing claim investigations, and providing critical administrative support to help maintain fair and accurate claims processing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Claims Investigation Support: Conduct thorough background research on claims by accessing public records, social media, and online databases to identify inconsistencies or suspicious activities.

Surveillance Management: Assist with surveillance updates and reports, manage invoices, and oversee the SIU’s video library to support claims handlers with needed information.

Pre-Surveillance Reports: Prepare pre-surveillance reports by gathering data from a variety of sources, such as ISO, NICB, and public records databases, to support claims handlers and investigators in assessment and decision-making.

Daily Claims Monitoring: Review daily ISO Claims Director reports to identify high-risk claims and prioritize further investigation.

Administrative Assistance: Support SIU team members with data compilation, monthly reporting, and provide backup to Litigation Coordinators as needed.

 

Qualifications:

Experience: One year of customer service and/or administrative support experience preferred. Previous claims experience strongly preferred.

Research Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), internet, and social media research tools.

Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills, excellent written communication, and the ability to analyze, synthesize, and summarize research data.

Adaptability: Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
