Chest Medicine Associates is seeking a New Patient Referral Coordinator, to be based in the South Portland office. This position could be Part time or Full time.  


Requirements of the New Patient Referral Coordinator:
  • High school education or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with referrals preferred.
  • Prior experience in a medical office environment and familiarity with electronic medical records are preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday-Friday during regular office hours.
  • Part time or Full time considered.

Responsibilities of the New Patient Referral Coordinator:
  • Sort, prioritize, and organize new, incoming requests for consultations.
  • Create charts in electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Enter demographic and insurance information into electronic chart.
  • Scan documents into chart.
  • Ensure the accuracy of patient registration and data entry.
  • Schedule new patient appointments accurately with appropriate phone etiquette.
  • Enroll patients in portal.
