HR Generalist

Human Resource Generalist/Saco Valley Credit Union/Saco, Maine

 

Saco Valley Credit Union is seeking a HR Generalist, to be based in the Saco but willing to travel to Waterboro.


Requirements of the HR Generalist:
  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist
  • Bachelor’s degree or formal certifications, (SHRM-CP, PHP or SPHR)
  • Experience with payroll administration
  • Ability to travel between branches during the workday
  • Actively participate in recruiting, interviewing, job offers, onboarding, and training
  • Administer benefit programs as well as consult and advise employees
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee files and related items.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiar with state and federal laws
  • Strong analytical, policy development and implementation experience
  • Work schedule: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday: 8-4, Thursday/Friday: 8-5

Responsibilities of the HR Generalist:
  • Manage the credit unions compensation; prepares time and attendance records, payroll and benefit hour records for each employee
  • Develop and implement recruitment plans
  • Screen and interviewing candidates, including background checks, references, onboarding and training
  • Employee relations and support, including: performance reviews and responding to employee concerns
  • Help plan and participate in employee-centered events and activities
  • Work with senior leadership to develop HR strategies that align with organizations goals
  •  Experienced with Microsoft Office products, and HR management software


Saco Valley Credit Union is a full-service financial institution that caters to members in York and Cumberland counties. The Credit Union serves over 9,000 members and has around 35 employees
