One of our companies is currently looking for a Customer Success Manager, Carbon Mapper and CARB in California.

As a Customer Success Manager (CSM), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful engagement between the Carbon Mapper project, the California Air Resources Control Board (CARB), and Planet’s satellite data and analytics. This role focuses on supporting initiatives related to methane emissions monitoring, air quality, and regulatory compliance for CARB. You will work closely with various stakeholders to maximize the value of the satellite data provided, helping to meet CARB’s environmental and sustainability goals. This position demands strategic thinking, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for CARB’s Satellite Data Purchase Project (SDPP), ensuring smooth collaboration with Carbon Mapper and all other stakeholders.
  • Drive the adoption and effective use of Planet’s satellite data and analytics for methane emissions and air quality monitoring programs.
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Technical Support teams to address customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Conduct training sessions, webinars, and workshops to onboard CARB users and improve their technical proficiency with Planet’s platform.
  • Monitor account health proactively, offering data-driven recommendations to optimize CARB’s workflows and align with their sustainability goals.
  • Advocate for CARB’s needs within Planet, influencing the product roadmap and ensuring alignment with CARB’s long-term objectives.
  • Support contract renewals and expansions by demonstrating the value of Planet’s offerings.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Customer Success, Account Management, or similar roles, preferably within environmental science, geospatial data, or climate technology.
  • Strong understanding of remote sensing, methane emissions monitoring, and relevant regulatory frameworks such as those enforced by CARB.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with government agencies and technical teams.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable plans for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, and experience with geospatial data and visualization platforms is a plus.
