About The Role

Interpolitan Money Group is fast expanding its global footprint and is looking to bring onboard a Country Head who will be responsible for building its Canadian operations from ground-up. The Country Head will be responsible for building the Group’s brand & presence in Canada by recruiting & leading people, commercial activities & compliance frameworks in accordance with the local regulatory requirements. This role will own the entire country P&L and will be responsible for the firm’s overall growth in Canada. This role will play a critical part in enhancing our global footprint, driving revenue growth, and ensuring partners are aligned with our strategic goals.

You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure our successfull launch into Canada.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leadership:
    • Be responsible for end-to-end people management including hiring, retiring, training & other elements of human capital and its management.
    • Be responsible for driving Interpolitan Money Group values in Canada.
    • Be responsible for the strength of the culture in the entity and remain cohesive to its global offices.
    • Actively manage stakeholders within Compliance, Payments, Treasury, Finance & Commercial teams.
    • Actively strive to achieve profitability in the most scalable manner.
  • Product & Partnerships:
    • Be responsible for early market product evolution – identify the most appropriate way to launch current & future Interpolitan Money Group products in the Country.
    • Build and implement a strategic roadmap to implement the most suitable product for the country operations that is in line with the firm’s target market.
    • Build, cultivate & manage all local banking partnerships including commercial negotiations to optimise costs & delivery to the end clients.
    • Collaborate with global stakeholders to deliver the most scalable & profitable solution to the local market. o Build an appropriate Go-To-Market strategy that leverages the appropriate channels to reach our target customers within Canada.
    • Be the figurehead & brand ambassador for Interpolitan Money Group in Canada.
    • Develop a personal external presence through public speaking slots, social media and partnerships to further Interpolitan Money Group’s ambition.
  • Risk & Compliance:
    • Collaborate with the Group Compliance functions to build a robust in-country compliance framework that places Anti Money Laundering & Counter Terrorism Financing at the centre of our growth.
    • Be responsible to create a culture of risk first mindset to protect the Group’s reputation & continue to fulfil regulatory obligations.
    • Be a SPOC (Single Point Of Contact) and an advocate of our compliance framework internally, externally & with the regulators.
    • Be responsible for all legal & regulatory requirements in the country and assist appropriate Compliance member of staff to meet the Group’s regulatory requirements.
    • Engage deeply with the regulator to acquire and maintain the relevant licenses in the country.
  • Commercial Outlook:
    • Build a ground up commercial strategy in the country that drives top line growth that involves bringing the Group’s solutions to the in-country clients.
    • Build & implement pricing structures that brings high margin non-retail business to the firm.
    • Collaborate with global commercial teams to deliver the firm to the client.
    • Create a culture of collaboration within the commercial teams to drive best practises so as to delight the clients.
    • Acquire deep understanding of the needs of clients, develop business cases to support desired growth in the region to ensure they are appropriately financed.
  • P&L Management:
    • Be responsible for the Profit & Loss of the entity in the country.
    • Have a cost optimisation bent of mind to drive profitability.
    • Look to become fully profitable in 24 months time.
    • Recommend, collaborate, build & implement group strategies that optimise the deployment of capital.
  • Have legal status to live & work in Canada.
  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Finance, Operations or General Management
  • 12+ years of business experience with strong commercial, B2B sales & relationship management skill set.
  • Deep knowledge of International Banking solutions offered within Canada.
  • Experience in cross-border payments & understanding of international banking.
  • Should have built & managed large cross-functional teams.
  • Highly entrepreneurial, hands-on leader, with the ability to see opportunities and the drive to execute those opportunities.
  • Direct experience in dealing with regulators in Canada (Must have)
  • Experienced P&L Manager
  • Passionate about transforming Global Transaction Banking
