Position Overview

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Informa TechTarget, you will play a crucial role in driving growth by sourcing meetings that lead to marketing programs in collaboration with some of the world’s largest brands. You'll be the first point of contact, introducing our content strategy and development expertise to both existing clients and potential prospects.

In this role, you'll help generate revenue by developing new opportunities through phone, email, and social media outreach, supporting the Informa TechTarget Account Directors.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead Generation: Research, source, and secure leads to build a strong pipeline for Account Directors.
  • Outbound Sales: Make outbound sales calls to prospects within your assigned territory.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in weekly meetings, celebrating achievements, exchanging insights, and tackling challenges as a team.
  • Prospect Engagement: Utilize email and social media to engage target prospects with high-level value propositions.
  • Sales Appointments: Generate qualified leads and schedule sales appointments.
  • CRM Management: Track and update prospecting progress using Salesforce CRM.
  • Continuous Learning: Expand your understanding of content marketing programs and how they unlock value for TechTarget clients by exploring innovative approaches and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Self-Starter with a Growth Mindset: Proactively takes initiative, seeks continuous improvement, and views challenges as opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for fields such as business, marketing, communications, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience, ideal for early-career professionals or recent college graduates eager to build a successful career in B2B sales.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of crafting persuasive messaging, presenting ideas clearly, and engaging clients effectively through email, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Work Ethic and Motivation: Strong commitment to long-term career development, particularly in the competitive and rewarding fields of content marketing and national advertising solutions. Highly motivated and dedicated to achieving personal success.
  • High-Energy and Drive: A positive, driven attitude with the ability to make 50+ calls per day while maintaining enthusiasm and professionalism.
  • Results-Driven: Thrives in a merit-based environment with a focus on performance, accountability, and earning potential based on individual success.
  • Digital Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, LinkedIn), with the ability to leverage these tools for prospecting and relationship building.
  • Sales Performance: Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding monthly goals, with a proven track record of consistently meeting or surpassing performance targets, particularly in securing advertising and content marketing partnerships.
  • Sales-Oriented Problem Solver: Capable of identifying client needs and presenting tailored content marketing and advertising solutions that align with their business objectives.
  • Time Management and Organization: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, sales pipelines, and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

This position involves selling content marketing, branding, promotion, and advertising solutions to businesses nationwide. It's ideal for motivated individuals passionate about consultative sales and building long-term client relationships.
