Director, Business Development, Patient Recruitment

Everyday Health Group Pregnancy and Parenting (EHG P&P) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Business Development to lead and oversee all sales and revenue-generating activities for our growing clinical studies recruitment business. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic and results-driven revenue leader with a strong understanding of digital media and the clinical studies landscape. Reporting to the VP Business Strategy, this role will involve both individual contributions and leadership responsibilities, acting as a "player/coach" to drive revenue growth, craft strategic go-to-market plans, and build enduring client relationships. Key Responsibilities: 
Revenue Leadership:
  • Take ownership of revenue goals, including meeting and exceeding the 7-figure sales target for digital patient recruitment solutions.
  • Manage and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring consistent deal flow and revenue growth.
  • Oversee revenue forecasting, tracking performance against targets and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Partner with team leadership to define and implement short-and-long-term growth strategies 

 

Strategic Sales and Market Development:
  • Lead and implement the sales strategy, packaging, pricing, trade, and go-to-market plans for the Clinical Studies recruitment business line.
  • Lead efforts to establish and grow relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations (CROs), academic institutions, and patient recruitment organizations.
Client Solutions and Media Planning:
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives and develop tailored media plans and digital solutions that drive successful recruitment outcomes.
  • Create and present compelling client presentations to effectively sell digital patient recruitment solutions  that are based on user insights and deliver on client goals.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with clients to assess performance, align on goals, and identify opportunities for future growth.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with internal teams (partnerships, account management, planning, marketing, etc.) to ensure seamless execution and delivery of client programs.
  • Motivate and guide internal stakeholders to think creatively about new product offerings to meet client needs and drive revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to review and finalize Statements of Work (SOWs), contracts, and other client agreements, ensuring compliance and alignment with business objectives.
Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and mentor the Account Executive, Patient Recruitment, fostering a high-performance sales culture.
Job Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years of experience in digital media sales, business development, or healthcare solutions, with a proven track record of driving revenue and managing client relationships.
  • Experience leading sales strategy and delivering significant revenue growth in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial recruitment processes and the digital tools that support patient recruitment.
  • Strong understanding of the digital media business, including ad products, pricing models (e.g., CPM, CPA), and their role in driving results.
  • Exceptional sales and negotiation skills with the ability to build long-term client relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to craft and implement effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, capable of engaging and persuading audiences of all levels. 
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with a proven ability to motivate cross-functional teams.
