Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor (LPN)

Corus Academy is seeking a dedicated, qualified Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor (LPN) to provide patient-focused nursing education to aspiring CNA Class students who are working toward their certification. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, a clear understanding of care provided in a skilled nursing setting, and the ability to instruct students with patience and expertise in a hands-on clinical setting. This position requires an individual who is flexible and able to travel the state of New Mexico as required by the location of the facility where classes are conducted. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Certified Nurse Assistant Training and Certification Program
  • Administration of CNA II Mentorship Program
  • Direct Hospitality Aide Program
  • Support facility nurse management teams with continuing education and training of Licensed Nurses and CNAs
  • Assist Director of Clinical Education with Quality Assurance Performance Improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Excellent Professional Role Model
  • 2 years’ nursing experience in a long-term care facility
  • CNA experience preferred
  • Will be willing to travel throughout NM
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently
  • Willingness to provide personal care while teaching
  • General office, IT, customer service and marketing skills
  • Background in staff development or nurse education preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of the state and federal guidelines and regulations specific to skilled and long-term care nursing services
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a dedication and commitment to providing quality healthcare services in a resident-focused environment
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Expertise in wound care terminology, interventions, skin assessments
