Data Applications Manager

The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.


The DATA Applications Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, staff training, and end-user support for critical database application systems at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. Key systems include the NextGen Electronic Health Record (EHR) and the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). This role will collaborate with all departments to ensure compliance with DATA policies and procedures, manage system upgrades and changes, and coordinate training initiatives. The DATA Applications Manager will also oversee the DATA support help desk and develop and manage system reports to support organizational needs.

Essential Job Functions 
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure the smooth functioning and availability of database application systems, including NextGen EHR and HMIS.
  • Staff Training & Development: Design and implement training programs for staff to effectively utilize application systems and related tools.
  • End-User Support: Manage the database support help desk, providing Tier 2/3 support, troubleshooting, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work cross-functionally with departments to ensure database policies and procedures are followed and align with organizational needs.
  • Change & Upgrade Management: Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and changes to ensure minimal disruption and adherence to change management protocols.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Create, maintain, and run system reports to provide actionable insights and support operational decision-making.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with software providers, service vendors, and other external partners to ensure smooth operations and timely support.
  • Committee Participation & Development: Actively contribute to committees and support program development and staff growth initiatives.
  • Policy Management: Oversee and manage database policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to process standards and incorporating necessary changes.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate all database-related information to staff, physicians, and providers using appropriate methods to ensure timely and accurate updates.
  • Application & Database Expertise: Develop a thorough understanding of organizational applications and database structures to provide comprehensive support for services and operations.


Qualifications Summary 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with information systems, preferably in a healthcare or human services environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in managing and developing highly engaged teams, demonstrating strong leadership and motivational skills.
