Colorado Canine Orthopedics is currently seeking a Full Time Veterinary Receptionist (aka Pet Care Coordinator).  This position requires superb communication skills when interacting with co-workers and clients alike. Candidates must be dedicated team players, self-starters and thrive in a busy, stimulating, and fun environment. Friendly, dedicated, detail, and service-oriented problem solvers will find this position very rewarding. Duties include greeting clients and pets, answering phones, processing payments, and managing medical records. Clerical skills such as typing and navigating sophisticated veterinary soft-ware programs and common computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. are required. Training will be provided for veterinary specific programs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to pet owners in a polite and timely manner, both in person and over the phone 
  • Schedule appointments, record keeping and organization, provide estimates and invoices for payment 
  • Respond with compassion and empathy in stressful and emotional situations 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly lobby and front office area 
  • Willingness to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members 
  • Constantly advance your knowledgebase and customer service skills 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • 1+ years' experience in veterinary or medical practice required 
  • Minimum 2 years’ customer service experience required (retail, food and beverage, etc.) 
  • Computer experience and proficiency required (email usage, word/excel, operation of office equipment such as, fax machine, copy machine, and postage meter) 
  • Must possess basic math skills to determine proper deposits, make change, and process payments utilizing credit card and check terminal,  
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and team members 
  • Proficient time management, ability to problem solve, learn, and handle multiple tasks 
  • Enthusiastic team player with a patient, and positive professional attitude. 
  • Must be able to work seated for a majority of day

We are the largest of such practices in the United States with six orthopedic surgeons and approximately 50 team members. Our clients represent the cream of the crop pet owners and often travel from neighboring states for our nationally recognized expertise in veterinary orthopedics.
