Job Summary

A company is looking for a Mortgage Loan Underwriter Senior to evaluate credit risk and determine borrowers' repayment abilities for residential mortgages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review loan packages for completeness and compliance with established policies
  • Analyze borrowers' financial capacity and document conclusions to mitigate risks
  • Mentor and train junior underwriters while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as an Underwriter in financial services or mortgage banking
  • Experience with jumbo and super jumbo underwriting to investor guidelines
  • Knowledge of state and federal lending regulations
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field with extensive mortgage banking experience
  • Familiarity with FNMA/FHLMC guidelines and mortgage industry software
