Billing and Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Billing & Coding Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and audit medical codes, procedure codes, and facility codes against billed charges
• Prepare and submit Controverting Affidavits or Cost Reports for discrepancies in billing
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA-Privacy Rule requirements

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in medical billing, coding, and expert testimony
• Knowledge of various coding systems including ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II
• Strong computer skills related to billing review software and applications
• AAPC or AHIMA credentials are strongly preferred
• Ability to meet critical legal deadlines with strong time management skills
