Job Description

AHRC New York City is seeking Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Bronx Day Program. The pay rate for this position is between $17-$18 per hour depending on driving status. In addition, this position comes with a very generous and comprehensive benefit package...see Benefit information below.

SCHEDULEMonday thru Friday, 8hrs shift

Responsibilities:

  • Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills and habits.
  • Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities.
  • Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.

Qualifications

  • Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
  • Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
  • Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
