Job Title: Immigration Paralegal

Type: Full-Time, Remote (LatAm)

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST

Compensation: $2,500 - $3,500 (based on assessment)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal to join our team. In this key role, you will provide comprehensive support throughout the immigration process, focusing on both family and business immigration law. You will assist with a variety of cases, including family immigration matters such as U visas, 601 waivers, and adjustment of status based on marriage. While experience with PERM is not necessary, familiarity with I-140 petitions and a strong understanding of both business and family immigration processes is essential.

The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in immigration law, ideally working within a law firm, and be proficient in MS Suite and project management tools. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a remote work environment within the CST time zone.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file visa petitions, green card applications, naturalization forms, and other immigration-related documents with USCIS and other government agencies.

  • Conduct client intake interviews, gather supporting documentation, and maintain organized case files using immigration case management systems.

  • Research immigration laws, regulations, and procedures to assist attorneys in developing case strategies, particularly for family and business immigration matters, including U visas, 601 waivers, and adjustment of status based on marriage.

  • Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and provide legal research to assist attorneys with case strategies.

  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates, explain processes, address inquiries, and obtain additional information as necessary.

  • Assist clients in preparing for USCIS interviews, including drafting affidavits and legal briefs, and managing deadlines for various immigration applications and renewals.

  • Collaborate with attorneys to identify potential issues in cases and develop proactive solutions.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in immigration laws and policies to ensure compliance and inform clients accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a US immigration paralegal role, with a focus on family and business immigration law, including U visas, 601 waivers, asylum, and adjustment of status based on marriage.

  • Strong familiarity with common immigration forms and processes, including H-1B, PERM, L-1, I-140, U visas, and 601 waivers.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with project management tools.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.

  • Ability to work remotely and adapt to the CST time zone.
