The Manager of Incident Response will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the incident response strategy, managing the incident response team, and ensuring timely and effective responses to security incidents. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Incident Response Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive incident response plan that aligns with organizational goals and industry best practices. 
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the incident response team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. 
  • Incident Management: Oversee the detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery processes for security incidents, ensuring effective communication throughout the lifecycle of incidents. 
  • Threat Intelligence: Stay current with emerging threats and vulnerabilities, utilizing threat intelligence to inform incident response strategies and enhance organizational readiness. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, security operations, legal, and compliance teams to coordinate incident response efforts and ensure alignment with broader risk management strategies. 
  • Training and Awareness: Develop and conduct training programs and tabletop exercises to enhance the incident response capabilities of the team and other stakeholders. 
  • Post-Incident Review: Lead post-incident analysis and reporting to identify lessons learned, improve response processes, and make recommendations for enhancing security posture. 
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports for senior management on incident response metrics, trends, and outcomes, providing insights for informed decision-making. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 
  • 7+ years of experience in information security, with a focus on incident response or threat management, including 3+ years in a leadership role. 
  • Strong understanding of incident response frameworks and methodologies (e.g., NIST, SANS). 
  • Experience with security tools and technologies, including SIEM, forensic analysis tools, and incident management software. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage high-pressure situations and make informed decisions quickly. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, GCIH). 
  • Experience with cybersecurity threat hunting and proactive defense strategies.
