Graduate Market Research Analyst in Sports

Here’s a summary of the role:    

Are you a sports-focused graduate passionate about market research and eager to make a significant impact on both existing and potential new clients? As a Graduate Market Research Analyst at YouGov Sport, you will play a crucial role in supporting our German research teams (Services & Products), particularly in running sports-specific projects. Your knowledge of sports business, sponsorship evaluation, and fan engagement analytics will help shape our insights and provide valuable data to clients in the industry. Additionally, you will assist our sales department by delivering research-driven strategies to drive business growth. 

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your analytical skills, contribute to meaningful sports-related projects, and grow within a dynamic and supportive environment. 

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):  

  • Conduct detailed sports market analysis to generate insights for clients, enhancing our data offerings and supporting business growth. 
  • Assist the German research team with ongoing projects, particularly within sports sponsorship, fan engagement, and media impact analysis, ensuring quality and timely delivery. 
  • Support business development by identifying new leads and prospects in the sports industry, utilizing data-driven insights to engage them effectively. 
  • Engage in outreach efforts to expand our client base by providing compelling sports research insights. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sports research findings into broader business strategies. 
  • Present research findings to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. 
  • Provide support to the sales department by delivering market insights and sports industry trends to help drive business growth. 

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:  

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at a sports university or a related field such as Sports Management, Business, Marketing, or Economics. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex sports data sets. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in German and English. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.                                      

It would be great if you had these to, but we’ll support you if you don’t: 

  • Experience with sports market research tools and software. 
  • Knowledge of sports business models, sponsorship trends, and media valuation. 
  • Previous experience in a research or analytical role, particularly within sports organizations, agencies, or rights holders. 
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools for sports analytics.
